SUMMARY
Analyzes monthly cost and manufacturing variances by Maintains, reviews and analyzes general ledger, cost accounting standards, plant financial statements and inventory data. Continually reviews processes and methods to ensure and increase accuracy, relevancy, and timeliness, and to identify process improvement opportunities. Develops and implements appropriate actions to achieve targeted process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Other duties may be assigned.
Performs monthly close and provides financial reports to managers and plant personnel. Performs and reviews journal imports from sub systems to general ledger. Communicates with sub system and plant personnel concerning accounting changes and corrections. Prepares and updates standard recurring entries, and reconciles Balance Sheet accounts. (30%)
plant, including MUV, PPV, revaluation, inventory, conversion cost absorption, and freight. Assists plant personnel in understanding variances and determining and implementing corrective actions where appropriate. (20%)
Performs special projects/analysis as required with emphasis on process improvement. (10%)
Manages preparation of annual departmental budgets at the plant level. (10%)
Develops and prepares supplemental daily, weekly, month-end, quarterly, and annual reports for management. (10%)
Audits source data from other functions, such as sales and manufacturing, for accuracy and completeness. Assist and coordinate corrective actions, as required, with IS and other functions. (10%)
Prepares, reviews, and updates departmental and machine rates in Oracle and updates standard costs. Serve as back up for monthly rod and quarterly rate updates. (5%)
Oversees plant inventories for accuracy and reserve requirements. (5%)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The education requirements and experience requirement listed here indicate the minimum basic educational knowledge and the time required by a normal qualified person to perform the job duties of the position.
Education:
Professional, technical or administrative training (Bachelors Degree); Broad knowledge of Business Administration and Accounting.
Experience:
A minimum 3 years work-related experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.

Diversified duties involving an intensive knowledge of a restricted field and a range of procedures. Consistently requires judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances to determine appropriate action within the limits of standard or accepted practice. Where applicable, implement change to current practice to improve process.
